Light diffusion in lamps and fixtures

One of the primary applications of acrylic circles is light diffusion. Acrylic circles are often used in lamps, ceiling lights, and other lighting fixtures to diffuse light evenly, reducing glare and creating a soft, pleasant illumination. The specific materials used play a crucial role in the quality of light diffusion:

White 2447 Translucent Acrylic Sheet

Also known as “Milk Plexi” The 2447 White Translucent acrylic material transmits 47% of light, making it ideal for applications where a balance between light diffusion and brightness is needed. It’s perfect for lampshades and lighting covers where a moderate level of light transmission is desired.

White 2447 Matte/Glossy P95 Translucent Acrylic Sheet

The White 2447 matte/glossy P95 acrylic sheet is the same color as the “Milk Plexi” shown above, but the P95 finish on these sheets offers a dual-finish--meaning there's a matte surface on one side and a glossy surface on the other, providing versatile aesthetic and functional options. This material also transmits 47% of light, ensuring consistent light diffusion.

White 7328 Translucent Acrylic Sheet

The 7328 white translucent acrylic sheet is slightly more opaque than the 2447 milk plexi shown above. With a light transmission rate of 28%, this material is suitable for situations requiring lower light diffusion, providing a more subdued and intimate lighting effect.
